COATHAM ELECTORAL ROLL
Vicar and Boundaries Revision

The vicar of Coatham, the Rev. F. Cosgrove, in his magazine makes reference to the unsatisfactory response to the signing of the electoral roll. He says “The response has not been good, and I must draw you attention to this again in view of the fact that quite a number who regularly worship here do not live within the parochial boundary, may find themselves in difficulty if, for instance, they want to get married at Coatham Church and neither party has the necessary qualifications. Of course, there are other reasons why you should sign. It gives you the right to have a vote and some voice in the government of the Church. And I want the Electoral Roll to be a useful instrument in my hands when I give evidence before the Ecclesiastical Commission which will be appointed to revise the boundaries.
